Northern Rivers Field Guide: Locations and Supplies
This guide collects the locations and supply sources behind iDream's print collection. Use it for planning your own Northern Rivers photography trips or to see the places and tools that shape the work.
Northern Rivers Nature Spots
These are the places I return to again and again. Each offers a different quality of light, texture, and atmosphere that feeds directly into the prints.
- Nightcap National Park — rainforest canopy and mist. Best early morning when humidity softens distant contrast and suspends light between the trees.
- Minyon Falls Lookout — dramatic escarpment scenes. The scale rewards wide compositions, but tighter frames of falling water work well in flat light too.
- Broken Head Nature Reserve — coastal forest meets headland light. Afternoon transitions here are what make the Coastal Dreaming collection possible.
- Cape Byron Lighthouse — sunrise seascapes. Blue hour often gives cleaner emotional results than the final orange minutes.
- Killen Falls — waterfall textures and green tones. A quieter alternative to Minyon when you want intimacy over scale.
- Nimbin Hinterland — atmospheric hinterland roads. Rolling terrain and scattered eucalyptus create natural leading lines in almost any weather.
Art and Photo Supplies
These are the suppliers I rely on for camera equipment, archival paper, and print production. Each plays a direct role in the quality of the finished work.
- Ted's Cameras — cameras, lenses, and accessories for field and studio work.
- digiDirect — studio and travel gear with reliable AU stock.
- Camera House — local support, accessories, and regional availability.
- CR Kennedy — professional systems and technical support.
- Canson Infinity — fine art papers used for museum-quality archival prints.
- Ilford — archival print media trusted across the fine art photography community.
